From its early beginnings as a county show of all things great within the livestock, farming and rural life, the 240 acre Bath & West site is now home to a series of world class shows and events throughout the year. We regularly house visitors to the New Wine Gatherings, Antiques & Collectors Fairs and Classic Car Auctions. There is, quite literally, something for everyone! A walk up Glastonbury Tor is a must on your visit. The Tor seems to rise up from the Somerset levels as if by magic. At the top is the stone tower of the Church of St Michael which can be seen for miles around. Climb to the summit of the hill and you have breathtaking views over the Vale of Avalon. For some reason our dog behaves very stangely when he's there! Many say there is something truly spiritual about the place. Perhaps you too will experience it.

Stourhead is a 2,650 acre estate managed by the National Trust, with a breathtaking 18th century landscaped garden with lakeside walks, grottos and classical temples. Climb the 205 steps to the top of King Alfred's Tower for a maginficent view of the local countryside. Take a picnic and marvel at the landscape which is truly stunning.

Set within 900 acres of parkland the stately home to the 7th Marquess of Bath is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain. The grounds are now equally well known for their Safari Park. Your visit will take you unbelievably close to all sorts of fascinating animals, from rhinos and lions, giraffes, sea lions and those in-famous monkeys. If you are taking your car be warned and look out for my windscreen wiper!

Stonehenge continues to be one of the most popular attractions in the UK. Its orientation on the rising sun has always been one of its remarkable features and it remains a mystery whether this is simply because the builders came from a sun-worshipping culture, or because, as some believe, the circle and its banks were part of a huge astrononomical calendar. Whatever the truth you must take a closer look on your visit to Somerset.

If you are looking to see the coast on your visit why not amble down in the car to Durdle Door (50 miles) or if you are looking for somewhere a bit closer, Burton Bradstock (37 miles). Both are lovely beaches. The Jurassic coast of the South West has some of the most stunning back-drops and the beaches are wide and sheltered (most days!)
